Screen Selections
Winston/Royal Guard has a complete selection of perforated metal and wire cloth, or wire mesh, available for various opening and retention requirements for our strainers. Most wire mesh sizes will have a perforated metal support.
Typical basket openings are:
- 80 mesh (0.0070” opening) for gas service,
- 40 mesh (0.0150” opening) for steam,
- Perforated with 1/8” diameter holes on 3/16” centers for process liquids.

Standard perforated material is 14 gauge with 1/8” diameter holes on 3/16” centers. 11 gauge perforated plate is available with 1/8” diameter holes and larger.
