Type 65BT Dry Gas Filters
for Natural Gas Filtration

The Type 65BT Series Dry Gas Filter efficiently removes particulate contaminants such as rust, pipeline scale, desiccant carryover, and dust from natural gas or air streams. Applications include protection for valves, regulators, meters, instrumentation, and other equipment in refineries, petrochemical plants, natural gas pipeline stations, and others. The compact vertical design allows for easy removal and replacement of the filter cartridge with the advantage of containing captured solids.

How it works:  The natural gas enters the filter housing and flows downward through the open top of the basket-type filter cartridge and outward through the pleated media.  With this single open end cartridge, the solid particulates are collected in the interior of the filter basket for easy change-out through the top of the vessel housing and without spillage.  A Buna O-ring provided in the top of the cartridge ensures no bypass allowing clean gas to exit the filter vessel.

With the pleated polyester cartridge, the gas stream encounters the greatest filter media area for the maximum dry contaminant holding capacity.  The filter is an excellent choice for expected high solids loading and has a very low clean pressure drop.  With a pleated design, these filter cartridges offer a longer service life between cartridge change-outs resulting in a lower maintenance cost and increased operational efficiency.

The Type 65BT Series Dry Gas Filter can be provided with inline or offset nozzles:

• Type 65BT-IL inline style nozzle configuration for a continuous straight piping arrangement.
• Type 65BT-OS offset style nozzle configuration for a higher inlet and an opposite side lower outlet allowing for a parallel arrangement or a rotated outlet.
• Type 65BT-PD with a parallel arrangement, one nozzle above the other for a duplex assembly (valves, supports, etc. can be provided).

Filter cartridges typically provided in the Type 65BT Dry Gas Filters are provided with a polyester pleat with a 99.9% efficiency (Absolute rated):

• WBPEL509 (2):   6” diameter, 9” long, with a rating of 2 microns.
• WBPEL519 (1):   6” diameter, 19” long, with a rating of 1 micron.
• WBPEL819 (10): 8” diameter, 19” long, with a rating of 10 microns.

Options:  Support legs, lifting eye(s), quick-opening closure, differential pressure connections, vent, and other customer requirements.
